Welcome!
This website is designed to help nursing moms find the breastfeeding supplies they need. Why learn from mistakes if you can avoid them in the first place? There are so many wonderful products out there to make your life easier during this rewarding yet often challenging time--don't waste your money on an inferior product or one that is not suited to your needs.
For example, did you know:
- used breastpumps are unsanitary if not hospital grade, or FDA approved for multiple users. Some examples of Hospital Grade rental breast pumps are the Medela Symphony, Classic, Lactina, and Ameda (Hollister) Elite (these cost from $800 to $2000 to purchase--which is why most people rent them.) There are some Breast pumps that are good quality, but are not FDA approved for multiple users such as the Medela Pump In Style and the Medela Pump In Style Advanced as well as the Ameda Purely Yours. These pumps are very good quality and come with a one year manufacturer warranty, but they are not hospital grade. They are fine to purchase brand new, but do not be tempted to buy one of these used off of Ebay or from a consignment shop. They are not "closed system" pumps, which means there is no protective barrier to keep breast milk out of the motor if it should get backed up into the tubing. Last but not least, Avent has come out with a new Double Electric with a Closed System (okay to use someone else's with your own kit) Avent IQ Duo this new pump offers hospital grade performance, but it is portable and much more affordable!
